The “Mason’s Apron” is a tune for playing Irish tenor banjo pyrotechnics.

The artists are Tony Sullivan (nickname Sully) on banjos* and vocals; Kevin Barnard on guitar; Suzie Sullivan on bodhran.

They had great fun playing these lively tunes in their gigs in Ireland and on the Lancashire folk scene.

* four kinds of banjos on this album: tenor banjo, 5-string banjo, cello banjo, banjo-mandolin.

 

This is the recording that followed their winning THE FRETWIRE INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL in MANCHESTER 1981;
